Concord Field Trip

We had an awesome trip to Concord today. We were able to explore the Franklin Pierce Manse and visit the State House. The students had a chance to meet our Governor Maggie Hassan, Senator John Sununu, Senator Russell Prescott, and Representative Alexis Simpson. I was so proud of my students as they shook Governor Hassan's hand and also visited the House of Representatives floor, and Senate Chamber.

Happy Spring!

To celebrate completing our first full week of Smarter Balanced testing, and the first day of spring, we planted seeds! The kids had a choice of a vegetable or flower to plant and then decorated a seed packet to go with them. Happy Spring from 4-Estle!

  

Solar Storm

In class we have been talking about magnets and how the Earth has it's own magnetic field, including learning about how the Aurora Borealis is formed and viewed. Then this week (perfect timing!) I came across the following article about how the Aurora could be seen as far south as the middle of the US. I then found the following pictures of the Aurora seen from Phillips Exeter! The kids were so excited to hear that it could be seen so close to home! I have included the link below to the article we read and the picture I showed them.
